Laser Therapy
Laser Thread Vein Removal deals with the appearance of red, blue or purple spider veins on the face and legs. Unlike laser therapy, traditional methods such as sclerotherapy rarely produce complete clearance and are often subject to various side effects. The laser light penetrates the outer skin and coagulates the blood in the targeted blood vessel. This causes the vein to blanche and then disappear through re-absorption into the surrounding cells.
Laser Photorejuvenation refers to the procedure of using light photons to rejuvenate areas of skin, but does not injure the skin surface. Photorejuvenation is used to treat sun damaged skin, fine wrinkles, texture, pigmentation, broken capillaries, facial rosecea or redness. The laser light penetrates deep into the skin where the heat stimulates new collagen and collagen remodelling. the skin appears smoother with lovely and even complexion.
Laser Hair Removal is the most effective way to remove unwanted hair. The most common areas to be frequently requested are face, upper lip, neck, chest, underarms, back, bikini line and legs. Although one laser session can produce long term hair removal, as a rule multiple sessions are necessary to obtain optimal results.
Laser Acne Treatment is described as "the most significant advancement in acne treatment for decades", the laser is a safe, fast and effective procedure. Clinical studies have shown laser treatment to be comparable to if not more effective than prescription antibiotics. The treatment is virtually painless without any side effects.

Botulinum Therapy
There are many factors that contribute to the aging of our skin (sun - damage, alcohol, smoking etc), lines develop because the muscles underneath cause it to crease when we use them to create facial expressions. Botulinum treatments relax specific muscles, allowing the overlying skin to smooth out. The principal facial areas treated are central frown lines, forehead creases and winkles around the eyes.
These treatments are given by injection directly into the muscles concerned. An anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin beforehand, which numbs the area being treated. Any discomfort is consequently very mild and of a temporary nature. The dose for cosmetic use is very small and any possible side effects and suitability for treatment will be discussed fully at your initial consultation. An aftercare instruction sheet will be given to you following your treatment, along with a follow up appointment to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the procedure.
Botox® – The Facts
Botox® is the trade name for Botulinum Toxin which is a prescription drug, and therefore it is unlawful for anyone other than a qualified Medical Practioner to prescribe. Despite its popularity, Botox® is not a treatment to be taken lightly, with possible side effects if administered incorrectly, or used on those with certain medical conditions.
 Rest assured that at The Retreat we offer a full medical consultation where such effects could be identified and risks reduced. Our Medical Practitioner BDS (Lond) LDS (Eng) has advanced training and certification in all of the treatments provided with several years of experience in this field and holds Gold Membership of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics.
Restylane® Treatments
Fine lines and wrinkles can now be successfully improved with Restylane®, which consist of Hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the body. As we age its volume diminishes in the skin, leaving wrinkles and other signs of aging. Restylane® is formulated to be injected in to the skin to lift up the tissue of a line, wrinkle or fold.
Recent research has shown that the injection of Restylane® also stimulates the body’s own fibroblast cells to produce more natural collagen, which makes the skin smoother and more elastic.
There is a whole range of Restylane® products, which have developed for use in different areas of the face and lips and during your consultation our qualified practitioner will advise you on the most suitable product for you.
Restylane Vital® Facial Rejuvenation
‘Vital’ is made from the same non-animal stabilised Hyaluronic acid as the other Restylane® products. However, unlike these, it does not contain particles but has been developed as a completely smooth gel.
In this form it is not used as a filler, but is designed to boost the skin’s natural hydration and so counter the effects of ageing and sun damage.
It not only moisturises he skin from within but also stimulates the cells that produce natural collagen (the fibroblasts), this results in more elastic & smoother skin.
