Laser Acne Treatment

Described as “the most significant advancement in acne treatment for decades”, the laser is a safe, fast and effective procedure. The treatment uses an invisible Nd:Yag laser light which interacts with the molecule in the bacterium cell. This interaction causes the generation of free radicals in the form of oxygen molecules which in turn destroy the bacteria present in the acne breakout. Once the bacteria are destroyed the inflammation will reduce rapidly and the skin will return to normal. Often prescribed in combination with MD Formulation Glycolic Peels and correct skincare, it brings long lasting effects along with a radiant complexion.

Laser Thread Vein Removal

This deals with the appearance of red, blue or purple spider veins on the face, neck, décolletage and legs. Unlike laser therapy, traditional methods such as sclerotherapy rarely produce complete clearance and are often subject to various side effects. The laser light penetrates the outer skin and causes the blood in the targeted blood vessel to coagulate. This causes the vein to blanche and then disappear through re-absorption into the surrounding cells. The light impacts the vein without causing damage to the surrounding skin tissue and is therefore an extremely simple and safe procedure. Results are generally immediate although it may take a few days for re-absorption to occur.

Laser Photo-Rejuvenation

This refers to the procedure of using light photons to rejuvenate areas of skin, but does not injure the skin surface. Photo-rejuvenation is used to treat sun-damaged skin, fine wrinkles, texture, pigmentation, acne scarring, broken capillaries, facial rosacea or redness. The laser light penetrates deep into the skin where the heat stimulates new collagen and collagen remodelling. In most people we see improvements within two weeks of having the first treatment. The skin appears smoother with an even complexion. Often used in addition with microdermabrasion or glycolic peels, this treatment has proven to have long-lasting effects.

Moles, Warts & Skin Tags

Warts and skin tags are clumps of skin cells that grow abnormally due to a virus infection. Laser treatment can be used on them anywhere on the body. Laser treatment eliminates the blood supply to the mole, wart, skin tag, creating a wound. The affected tissue just dries up. Skin tags or polyps, and other wart-like skin growths are also treated by laser effectively & scarring is minimal. Moles should always be seen by your GP prior to receiving Laser Treatment.

Verrucas

There are several treatments available for verrucas such as freezing and over the counter creams - However, it is becoming clear that the ND:YAG laser has many advantages over most other treatments. Research has been published showing that when verruca treatments were compared: Cryotherapy (freezing verrucas) and Chemical therapy both destroyed the verruca cells, but still left active virus particles (HPV or Human Papilloma Virus) behind.
In contrast, the Nd:YAG laser destroyed the cells AND the active virus particles.
Laser may initially appear more expensive per session than other treatments as the laser is an expensive bit of kit, but being a laser treatment, the actual treatment session itself is quick - Pulses of laser energy are used to destroy the verruca cells and as 60 - 70% of verrucas disappear within 5 sessions. It usually works out both quicker and less expensive than other treatments, and we recommend a course which includes upto 10 x 15 minute sessions, which includes a combination of laser & Chemical Therapy.

Quality of Care

Prior to any treatment the qualified specialist will provide a full FREE consultation. The consultation identifies your expectations and provides a complete explanation of the treatment. A medical history is taken to confirm suitability and a test patch is utilised to confirm that there are no adverse skin reactions. For this there is a nominal charge of £20 (deducted from any subsequent laser treatment). We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, giving you peace of mind that you will receive only the very best quality of care.

Laser therapy prices are charged per session, and can differ according to the length of time allocated and the size of area to be treated, therefore a precise quote will be given at the time of consultation
